Kenya – July 7-20, 2012
CCC has sent several short term service teams to Kenya, Africa during our first five years. We partner with Imani Missions, and work with Pastor John Kombe. Pastor John planted a church in the slums of Mikindani, Mombasa. In 2010, our team assisted the new church with outreach events where we showed the movie “The Passion of the Christ” to the community. In 2011, a team of 10 people conducted the very first medical clinic at the church. The church is growing and providing micro-enterprising training for the community. A preschool and feeding program have also been started in Mikindani. There is a lot of work to be done in Mombasa, and our 2012 team will work with the nursey school and day center assisting with projects around the school, providing children’s programming, encouraging the staff and teachers, and supplying much needed materials for the school. We will also help the church with outreach by making home visits in the community.
As we all look to turn up the heat and live radically generous lives, taking a couple of weeks out of your summer to go serve the people in Kenya can be a huge step in your journey. If you’ve always wanted to go on a short term service trip or you feel a tug in your heart to go serve the people of Mombasa, consider joining us on our 2012 Kenya team.
